General description

Detomidine hydrochlorides belong to the class of α2-adrenergic agonists that are majorly used for the sedation of horses.

Application

Detomidine hydrochloride monohydrate may be used as a precursor for the preparation of detomidine that can be employed as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in equine liver samples by enantioselective capillary electrophoresis.
