General description

Pentanochlor belongs to the anilide class of herbicides. It is employed as a pre- and post-emergence selective herbicide for annual weed control in a variety of vegetables.

Application

Pentanochlor may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in food and non-food crops by sample preparation based on acetonitrile extraction, salt-induced phase partitioning, and dispersive solid-phase extraction (SPE) cleanup [quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe (QuEChERS)], followed by analysis using two-dimensional gas chromatography-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC x GC TOF-MS).
