General description

1,8-Diaminooctane is an aliphatic bifunctional amine.

Application

1,8-Diaminooctane was used in the preparation of oligo(octamethylene terephthalamide) via enzymatic polycondensation with dimethyl terephthalate. It was used for functionalization of short pristine multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs). It was also used in solvent-free functionalization of fullerene C60.
