General description

1,4-Dichloro-2-nitrobenzene is a chloronitrobenzene, which can be commonly used in industrial intermediates as an organic dye. It can serve as a substitute for p-dichloroaniline, used in the manufacture of dyes and pigments and it can also find applications as an ultraviolet absorber, which can be useful in stabilizing polyolefins.
