General description

Dodecanedioic acid has been identified as impurity in the samples of azelaic acid. Synthesis of dodecanedioic acid from Vernonia galamensis oil via room temperature oxidation of 12,13-epoxystearic acid has been reported.

Application

Dodecanedioic acid may be employed in the culture media of acclimated methanogenic hexadecane-degrading consortium M82.
