General description

Strychnine is an alkaloid, available as a bioactive component in Semen Strychni, exhibiting analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor effects. It is widely used in neurological research, treatment of genetic disorder nonketotic hyperglycinemia, treatment of stomach ailments, etc.

Application

Strychnine may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in biological samples using liquid chromatography coupled to electrospray ionization mass spectrometry.
