General description

Tecnazene is a sprouting inhibitor and protectant fungicide used on stored potatoes. It is widely used in controlling rot fungus and molds. Its mode of action involves lipid peroxidation, which leads to the membrane structure and function being disrupted.

Application

Tecnazene may be used as a reference standard for the determination of the analyte in fatty foods using gas chromatography with electron capture detection (GC-ECD).
