Mirex is an organochlorine insecticide, found to be carcinogenic and moderately toxic in nature and is persistant in the environment as an organic pollutant.

Application

Mirex may be used as an internal standard for the determination of organochlorine pesticides in fruits and ergosterol analysis for the detection of molds in soil samples using gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry.
