General description
DL-2-Aminoadipic acid belongs to the non-protein amino acid class of compounds, which are usually not the constituents of the proteins. These are reported to be either the end products of secondary metabolism or intermediates of the metabolic pathways. DL-2-aminoadipic acid is known to play an important role in some of the metabolic routes, with certain properties and health benefits.
Application
DL-2-Aminoadipic acid may be used as an analytical reference standard for the enantiomeric separation of the analyte in pharmaceutical and food samples using electrokinetic chromatography. It may be used as an analytical standard for the quantification of the analyte in central carbon metabolism using gas chromatography-chemical ionization-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC-CI-QTOFMS).
