General description
Lauryl gallate is a major monomer flavanol found in green tea and shows antioxidant activity in polymers.
This substance is listed on the positive list of the EU regulation 10/2011 for plastics intended to come into contact with food.
Application
Lauryl gallate may be used as an analytical standard in investigating its activity as a pro-ecological anti-ageing substance for common polymers as food packing materials using electroanalytical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) methods.
Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.

Lauryl gallate (antioxidant food additive E-312) prevents the formation of dimethylbenzanthracene-induced skin tumours in mice, and kills, selectively, tumoral cells on established tumours. This results in total remission, after topical application of the compound on the tumoral mass, without affecting

Dodecyl (C(12)) gallate (3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoate) (1) was found to possess antibacterial activity specifically against Gram-positive bacteria, in addition to its potent antioxidant activity. The time-kill curve study indicates that this amphipathic gallate exhibits bactericidal activity against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)

Lauryl gallate is an antioxidant food additive showing low toxicity to normal cells. Here, its antiproliferative effect has been studied on three human breast cancer cell lines: estrogen-dependent, wild-type p53, MCF7; estrogen-independent, non-functional p53, MDA-MB-231 and MCF7 ADR, which overexpresses
