General description
all-trans-Neurosporene belongs to the class of carotenoids, and is mostly reported to have been obtained from 15-cis phytoene by phytoene desaturase CrtI in photosynthetic bacteria, carotenogenic bacteria, and fungi.
Application
all-trans-Neurosporene may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in plant tissues and tangerine tomatoes using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to a photodiode array detector (PDA).
