M H Ratinaud et al.
Cytometry, 9(3), 206-212 (1988-05-01)
Due to its spectral characteristics, the fluorochrome nonyl acridine orange (NAO) (lambda abs:489 nm, lambda em:525 nm), which is spontaneously incorporated by mitochondria with a high relative specificity, provides a new probe for the in situ study of these organelles
A Maftah et al.
FEBS letters, 260(2), 236-240 (1990-01-29)
The fluorescent dye 10-N-nonyl acridine orange (NAO), known as specifically associated with mitochondria, has been reported to have a cytotoxic effect when high doses were applied to cells. Presently, the biochemical basis of its toxicity was investigated on isolated rat
