General description
Melamine resin-based microparticles (size: 3 μm) are a particle size standard, suitable for profiling particle size distribution (PSD) of test samples.
The product contains hydrophilic surfaces with high degree of cross-linking and high-pressure resistance. Lyophilization and resuspension in aqueous media does not damage the product.

Application
Used to validate and monitor equipment particle size.
Features and Benefits
- suitable for routine instrument calibration checks and corrections
- extremely high stability in organic solvents
- no swelling or shrinking upon contact with organic solvents
- aqueous suspensions are stable to repeated freeze-thaw cycles
- available in 10 mL pack size as a neat sample
Analysis Note
For every lot, exact values of particle size and standard deviation are determined with an accuracy of 0.01 μm using a Coulter Multisizer.
Density: 1.51 g/cm3
Heat resistance <300 °C
Chemical resistance: acids, bases, organic solvents
Monodisperse melamin resin particles are characterized by high uniformity and narrow size distribution. They carry functional methylol groups, which can be used for covalent coupling of biological active compounds.
