Albumin belongs to the four-member albumin superfamily. It is a major protein in the circulating blood. Albumin has a helical structure with three domains that form a heart-like shape.

Application

Bovine Serum Albumin solution has been used:

to block protein-coated well plates in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for immunoreactivity and cross-reactivity studies in the production of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs)
to prepare primary antibody solution for peroxidases staining
as a supplement for in vitro cultivation of Borrelia strains
