General description
Silver sulfate is an inorganic compound that can be used as a catalyst in various reactions such as halodecarboxylation of aryl aromatic acids, ortho-acrylation, and cycloaddition reaction to synthesize N-vinyl-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles.
Application
Silver sulfate can be used as:
- A catalyst for the sulfonation of waste-based polystyrene into polystyrene sulfonic acid.
- A chloride inhibitory agent in the determination of chemical oxygen demand (COD).
