Application

Silica gel orange, which is functionalized with xylenol orange, may be used as a selective solid phase extractor for the preconcentration and removal of mercury in water, which can be analyzed by spectrophotometric methods. It may also be used as a support in chelating resins prepared from amberlite XAD-2 and titron, which can find applications in preconcentration and determination of metal ions, via spectrophotometric methods.
