General description

The 1:250 designation indicates the tryptic activity based on standardized testing. This ratio indicates that one part trypsin will digest 250 parts casein in the USP activity assay.
Trypsin from porcine pancreas is an enzyme that is used for the dissociation and dislodging of mammalian cells and tissues that are anchorage-dependent. The age of the culture and cell type determines the concentration of trypsin necessary to disaggregate cells from their substrate.

Application

Trypsin Solution 10X has been used to release adherent cells from tissue culture plates for passaging.

Coronaviruses (CoVs) have repeatedly emerged from wildlife hosts and infected humans and livestock animals to cause epidemics with significant morbidity and mortality. CoVs infect various organs, including respiratory and enteric systems, as exemplified by newly emerged severe acute respiratory syndrome

Identifying viral antagonists of innate immunity and determining if they contribute to pathogenesis are critical for developing effective strategies to control emerging viruses. Previously, we reported that an endoribonuclease (EndoU) encoded by murine coronavirus plays a pivotal role in evasion
