General description

Adaptor protein-2 (AP2) is a key constituent of clathrin-coated vesicles that mediate the endocytosis of cell membrane components such as G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). AP2 is a heterotetramer that consists of α, β, μ and σ subunits which bind to tyrosine- and dileucine-based motifs on membrane-associated cargo proteins.
Mouse Monoclonal Anti-AP-2α antibody binds to human AP-2α.

Immunogen

human AP-2α/AP-2γ fusion protein.

Application

Immunoprecipitation and western blot analysis was performed on virally -infected A549 cells using monoclonal mouse anti-AP-2 IgG (clone 100/2).
Mouse Monoclonal Anti-AP-2α antibody can be used for western blot (1-2μg/ml) and IHC assays.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Adaptor protein-2 (AP2), a central component of clathrin-coated vesicles (CCVs), is pivotal in clathrin-mediated endocytosis, which internalizes plasma membrane constituents such as G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). AP2, a heterotetramer of α, β, μ and σ subunits, links clathrin to vesicle
