General description

The Obg family of GTPases belongs to the TRAFAC (for translation factors) class. Obg-like ATPase 1 (OLA1) [GTP-binding protein 9 (putative)] is a member of the Obg family that binds and hydrolyses ATP more efficiently than GTP. OLA1 has been shown to function as a negative regulator of antioxidant responses via nontranscriptional mechanisms. OLA1 is required for cell migration and invasion in various cancers such as breast cancer.

Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human GTPBP9

Application

Anti-GTPBP9 (AB1) polyclonal antibody is used to tag obg-like ATPase 1 protein for detection and quantitation by Western blotting and in plasma by immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to study the roles of obg-like ATPase 1 in cancer cell migration and invasion and cellular oxidative processes.
