Gene Information

human ... KHDRBS3(10656)

General description

KH domain containing, RNA binding, signal transduction associated 3 (KHDRBS3, SLM-2), a close relative of SAM68, is a member of the RNA binding K homology (KH) and STAR (signal transduction activator of RNA metabolism) protein family. KHDRBS3 is involved in post-transcriptional regulation via RNA binding via U(U/A)AA repeats. KHDRBS3 is a plasma membrane plextrin homology domain recruiting protein.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human KHDRBS3

Application

Anti-KHDRBS3 polyclonal antibody is used to tag KH domain containing, RNA binding, signal transduction associated 3 protein for detection and quantitation by Western blotting and in plasma by immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to determine the roles of KH domain containing, RNA binding, signal transduction associated 3 protein as an RNA binding post-transcription regulator and plasma membrane (PM) recruitment protein.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Anti-KHDRBS3 polyclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, rat, chicken, and bovine KH domain containing, RNA binding, signal transduction associated 3 proteins.
As a RNA-binding protein, KHDRBS3 plays a role in the regulation of alternative splicing and influences mRNA splice site selection and exon inclusion. KHDRBS3 may play a role as a negative regulator of cell growth. It inhibits cell proliferation and involved in splice site selection of vascular endothelial growth factor. It induces an increased concentration-dependent incorporation of exon in CD44 pre-mRNA by direct binding to purine-rich exonic enhancer. RNA-binding abilities are down-regulated by tyrosine kinase PTK6. It also involved in post-transcriptional regulation of HIV-1 gene expression.

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.
