human ... HELT(391723)

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the middle region of human HELT

Application

Anti-HELT antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a concentration of 1.0μg/ml.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Helt bHLH transcription factor (HELT) is a transcriptional repressor mainly expressed in undifferentiated neural progenitors in some developing brain regions. It is involved in neuronal differentiation and determination of neuronal identity. HELT acts as selector gene and determines the GABAergic or glutamatergic fate of the neurons.

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

Other Notes

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: EMTVQYLRALHSADFPRGREKAELLAEFANYFHYGYHECMKNLVHYLTTV

We have previously shown that elevated expression of Hairy enhancer of split 1 (Hes1) contributes to blast crisis transition in Bcr-Abl-positive chronic myelogenous leukemia. Here we investigate whether Hes1 is involved in the development of other myeloid neoplasms. Notably, Hes1

The mechanism underlying the determination of neurotransmitter phenotype in the developing mesencephalon, particularly GABAergic versus glutamatergic fate, remains largely unknown. Here, we show in mice that the basic helix-loop-helix transcriptional repressor gene Helt (also known as Megane and Heslike) functions

Neuronal differentiation is regulated by many basic-helix-loop-helix (bHLH) family transcriptional activators and repressors, and the balance of activity between these factors is important for the differentiation process. Here, we report the identification of a novel transcriptional repressor, designated Helt. Helt
