Gene Information
human ... TSKS(60385)
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide directed towards the middle region of human TSKS
Application
Anti-TSKS (AB1) antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a concentration of 1μg/mL.
Biochem/physiol Actions
TSKS (testis-specific serine kinase substrate) gene encodes a 92 amino acid containing protein predominantly expressed in testis and at low levels in prostate, female breast, placenta, ovary and thymus. TSKS is localized to the centrioles of spermatids and spermatozoa and may play a role in the process of spermatogenesis or spermatid development. It also facilitates the testicular physiology and sperm function.
Physical form
Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.
Other Notes
Synthetic peptide located within the following region: ALRLLGGLGGRVDGFLGQWERAQREQAQTARDLQELRGRADELCTMVERS

Centrosomal coiled-coil proteins paired with kinases play critical roles in centrosomal functions within somatic cells, however knowledge regarding gamete centriolar proteins is limited. In this study, the substrate of TSSK1 and 2, TSKS, was localized during spermiogenesis to the centrioles

Two members of the human testis-specific serine/threonine (Ser/Thr) kinase family, TSSK 1 and TSSK 2, were cloned and sequenced from a human testis adaptor-ligated cDNA library using a PCR strategy. Within the cDNA, open reading frames (ORF) were defined encoding
