Biochem/physiol Actions

BCMA, a member of the TNF receptor superfamily, binds to the TNF ligands, APRIL and BAFF. It stimulates the production of IgM in peripheral blood B cells and increases survival of cultured B cells.

The extracellular domain (amino acids 2-54) of human BCMA is fused to the Fc portion of human IgG.

Physical form

Analysis Note

Inhibits BAFF- and April-mediated B cell activation. May be used to detect cell surface BAFF by flow cytometry.
