Carboxypeptidase B1 releases a C-terminal lysine or arginine amino acid preferentially.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 361-375 of human CPB1
Application
Yale Center for High Throughput Cell Biology IF-tested antibodies. Each antibody is tested by immunofluorescence against HUVEC cells using the Yale HTCB IF protocol. To learn more about us and Yale Center for High Throughput Cell Biology partnership, visit sigma.com/htcb-if. Anti-CPB1 (361-375) antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a working dilution of 1:500 to 1:2000.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Carboxypeptidase B1 is a pancreatic tissue specific metallo-protein and is a marker for acute pancreatitis and dysfunction of pancreatic transplants. It is not elevated in pancreatic carcinoma.
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide

LPS-induced sepsis results in oxidative modification and inactivation of carboxypeptidase B1 (CPB1). In this study, immunoprecipitated CPB1 was probed for tyrosine nitration using monoclonal nitrotyrosine-specific Abs in a murine model of LPS-induced sepsis. Tyrosine nitration of CPB1 was significantly reduced
