ENP is more effective than anti-Lipid A antibody at neutralizing endotoxin and improving survival in animal models of E. coli sepsis.

Amphiphilic, binds to and neutralizes endotoxin from gram-negative bacteria.
Other Notes
Approximately 0.7 μg protein neutralizes 50% of 1 μg control standard endotoxin (CSE) in a standard Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) assay.
rENP is the recombinant version of the Limulus anti-LPS factor (LALF) originally isolated from the American horseshoe crab (Limulus polyphemus) by Aketagawa, et al. and later characterized by Muta, et.al.
