Immunogen
synthetic peptide derived from amino acids 4-17 from the N-terminal region of human and mouse c-Fos.
Application
Anti-c-Fos antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for the following applications:
- Western blotting (chemiluminescent) at a concentration of 10μg/mL using mouse NIH3T3 cells
- Immunohistochemistry
- Tissue Immunofluorescence
Biochem/physiol Actions
The antibody does not react with c-Fos in HeLa cells.
c-Fos is a proto-oncogene, which is the human homolog of the retroviral oncogene v-fos. It is one of the essential transcription factors that helps in initiation of adipocyte differentiation. FOS protein expression in human glioma is found to be strong and probably plays a critical role in the progression of gliomas. c-Fos may be involved in regulating lipid synthesis. c-Fos is associated with prognosis of ovarian cancer (OvCa) by changing the adhesion of OvCa cells to peritoneal surfaces.
Physical form
Lyophilized from phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide.
Preparation Note
Prepared using protein A.
Reconstitute with 100 μl deionized water.
