General description
AGR9 encodes a 483 amino acid protein with seven stretches of hydrophobic amino acids, which represents a G protein-coupled receptor. It is expressed in the cardiovascular, central nervous and digestive systems.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal domain of human G protein-coupled receptor AGR9, conjugated to KLH. The immunizing peptide has 100% identity with the mouse gene.
Application
Anti-G Protein-Coupled Receptor AGR9 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for immunohistochemistry at a working concentration of 3μg/mL using formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections human adrenal tissue.
Biochem/physiol Actions
AGR9 exhibits rhodopsin-like receptor activity. Dibutyryl cyclic AMP and the β-adrenergic agonist isoproterenol, mimic the effect of forskolin. Forskolin causes a marked and transient decrease in the steady-state level of AGR9 mRNA.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.7, containing 0.01% sodium azide.
