Application

GYPGQV trifluoroacetate salt has been used as a protease-activated receptor 4 (PAR4) peptide agonist to test its effect on guinea-pig lower esophageal sphincter.

Biochem/physiol Actions

GYPGQV peptide displays comparatively lower binding towards annexin than SFLLRN. It induces human platelet aggregation but not to the extent of GYPGKF peptide. GYPGQV is a weaker agonist of protease-activated receptor 4 (PAR4) signaling compared to AYPGKF.
Protease-activated receptor-4 (PAR4) agonist

Thrombin is an important agonist for platelet activation and plays a major role in hemostasis and thrombosis. Thrombin activates platelets mainly through protease-activated receptor 1 (PAR1), PAR4, and glycoprotein Ib. Because adenosine diphosphate and thromboxane A(2) have been shown to

The activated platelet surface serves as an integral part of the prothrombinase complex upon activation by potent platelet agonists such as thrombin and collagen. We determined the receptor specificity through which thrombin was enhancing collagen-induced thrombin generation. Whereas SFLLRN or
