Application
Anti-KAT (ab1) antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting.
Biochem/physiol Actions
The KAT (thiosulfate sulfurtransferase (rhodanese)-like domain containing 1) gene spans a genomic region of 1.6 kilobases approximately and consists of 4 exons encoding a 115 amino acid protein with a molecular mass of about 12.5kDa. It is expressed in several human tissues that includes kidney, liver, skeletal muscle, heart, colon, thymus, spleen, placenta and lung. The KAT protein is found around the nuclear membranes and is expressed in several breast, colon and lung carcinoma cell lines, but not in normal breast epithelial cell lines. It is also detected in invasive ductal carcinoma, but not in adjacent tissues and has a role in tumorigenesis.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

We describe the molecular characterization of a novel human gene on chromosome 1q23.3, termed KAT, which is highly conserved among mammals. The KAT gene spans a genomic region of approximately 1.6 kilobases and consists of 4 exons encoding a 115
