Recombinant integral membrane protein 2B

Application

Anti-ITM2B antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Integral membrane protein 2B is a protein encoded by the ITM2B gene in humans. It is a type II transmembrane protein that is trasnported through the secretory pathway to the cell surface and is processed by furin and ADAM10 (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain 10). The ITM2B protein binds to amyloid precursor protein to halt amyloid-β production and inhibits amyloid-β aggregation. It is linked to Alzheimer′s disease (AD). In early stages of AD, an increased deposition of this protein is found. Mutation in this gene is also associated with dementia or retinal disease.
