Gene Information
human ... PDIA6(10130)
General description
PDIA6 (also known as ERP5) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-resident protein found mainly on platelet intracellular membranes. It is translocated to the surface of epithelial tumor cells. It possesses structural homology with protein disulfide isomerase (PDI). PDIA6 consists of two Cys-Gly-His-Cys (CGHC) sequences and the ER retention signal Lys-Asp-Glu-Leu.
Immunogen
Immunogen Sequence: GI # 5031973, sequence 301-440
Recombinant protein disulfide isomerase-associated 6
Application
Anti-PDIA6 antibody produced in chicken is suitable for western blotting analysis at a dilution of 1:500, for tissue or cell staining at a dilution of 1:200.
Biochem/physiol Actions
PDIA6 (also known as ERP5) is involved in various activities such as chaperone, isomerase and peptide-binding activities. It is rapidly recruited to the cell surface in response to a range of platelet agonists. Blocking of cell-surface ERP5 by inhibitory antibodies leads to a decrease in platelet aggregation in response to agonists and a decrease in fibrinogen binding and P-selectin exposure. ERP5 is associated with integrin β(3) subunit during platelet stimulation.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

MICA is a ligand of the activating receptor NKG2D, expressed by NK and T cells. MICA expression is induced in cancer cells favoring their elimination by the immune system; however, many advanced tumors shed soluble MICA (sMICA), which impairs NKG2D-mediated
