Preparation Note

Bioengineered to resist autoproteolysis, resulting in an enzyme with improved stability and substantially higher activity levels over extended time periods to conduct kinetic assays. The enzyme includes the most commonly occurring background polymorphism (L63P) that aids in the drug resistance profile.

Other Notes

One unit of HIV protease will cleave 1picomole per minute of the substrate Abz-Ala-Arg-Val-Nle-Tyr(NO2)-Glu-Ala-Nle-NH2 at 37°C.
