General description

Chemical structure: ß-lactam

Application

Recommended for use in embryo culture at approximaterly 100,000 units/L (60 mg/L). Solutions should be filter sterilized and stored at 2-8 °C for up to 1 week, −20 °C for extended periods. Solutions are stable at 37 °C for 3 days.
Used in cell culture in combination with streptomcyin and other antibiotics.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Mode of Action: Penicillin G acts by inhibiting cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin binding proteins (PBPs), inhibiting peptidoglycan chain cross-linking.

Antimicrobial spectrum: This product is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Use to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial cell walls by inhibition of the cell wall peptidoglycan chain cross-lining.
