General description
Ser/Thr protein phosphatase type 5 (PP5) is a 58kD protein present in human and is localized in nucleus which plays an essential role in mitosis and in the regulation of RNA biogenesis. It also has a pivotal role in cell proliferation and facilitates neoplastic transformation. Rabbit Anti-Protein Phosphatase 5 (PP5) antibody can identify human PP5 and reacts specifically with protein serine threonine phosphatase 5 (58 kD).
Immunogen
synthetic peptide derived from the human phosphatase 5 protein.
Application
Anti-Protein Phosphatase 5 (PP5) antibody can be used in western blotting using A549 or MCF7 cell lysates.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.08% sodium azide. The amount of the reagent is sufficient for 10 blots.

Protein phosphatase 5 (PP5) possesses unique biochemical properties, which include its tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) targeting/regulatory domain and its ability to be activated by lipids. PP5 has been studied as a paradigm for TPR protein structure and function. Roles for PP5

Ligand-induced glucocorticoid receptor (GR) activation has recently been linked to the inhibition of cell proliferation via the transcriptional induction of p21(WAF1/Cip1), which functions as a universal inhibitor of cyclin-dependent protein kinases. Herein, we identify a Ser/Thr protein phosphatase (PP5) that
