Gene Information
rabbit ... Notch1(4851)
Immunogen
The epitope recognized by PLA0222 maps to a region between residue 2400 and 2450 of human Notch ortholog 1, translocation-associated using the numbering given in entry NP_060087.3 (GeneID 4851).
Application
Product PLA0222, Powered by Bethyl Laboratories, has been pre-qualified for use in proximity ligation assay (PLA®). PLA® technology enables visualization of protein interactions in fixed cells and tissue samples while under endogenous protein expression levels.
Physical form
Tris-citrate/phosphate buffer, pH 7 to 8 containing 0.09% Sodium Azide
Other Notes
Notch1 is the human homolog of the D. melanogaster Notch gene first reported as the gene responsible for the presence of notches in the wingblades of a specific strain of flies. The Notch protein is a transmembrane receptor that mediates juxtacrine signals between adjacent cells. Mammalian Notch1 ligands include Delta-like and Jagged. Upon ligand binding, Notch1 undergoes two proteolytic cleavage events that result in the release of the intracellular Notch1 domain and its translocation to the nucleus where it can participate in gene transactivation. Notch 1 signals mediate cellular fate, differentiation, and development.

We have previously shown that human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) uses DC-SIGN as an entry receptor for dendritic cells, macrophages and B cells. The viral attachment protein for DC-SIGN is unknown. HHV-8 virions contain five conserved herpesvirus glycoproteins, a single unique
