Gene Information

General description

HLA-DR is located on chromosome 6. It is composed of a heavy and light chain, which are two non-covalently associated subunits of molecular weight 33-36 kDa and 24-30 kDa, respectively. These class II antigens are expressed primarily on B cells, and on monocytes and activated T cells, and function in cell-cell recognition in regulation of the immune response.
The previously assigned protein identifier P01912 has been merged into P01911. Full details can be found on the UniProt database.

Immunogen

GM-1500 human tumor cell line

Biochem/physiol Actions

Recognizes HLA-DR, a product of the human major histocompatibility complex. The antibody is specific for a non-polymorphic HLA-DR determinant.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% bovine serum albumin and 15 mM sodium azide

Preparation Note

Quantum Red is a tandem fluorescent dye created by coupling R-phycoerythrin with Cy5 reactive dye. This red dye is efficiently excited at 488 nm and emits at 670 nm.

The signals leading to T cell differentiation and tissue infiltration during obesity are poorly understood. We tested whether saturated
