General description

The LGALS3 enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit provides for the quantitative measurement of galectin-3 in cell culture supernatants, plasma, and serum. Galectin-3 belongs to the β-galactoside-binding protein family. It is an intracellular and extracellular lectin. Galectin-3 is expressed in immune cells and epithelial cells. It interacts with intracellular glycoproteins and plays a role in several biological processes such as angiogenesis, apoptosis, cell growth, adhesion, and differentiation.
