Gene Information
human ... LGALS3(3958)
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human LGALS3
Biochem/physiol Actions
LGALS3 is a galactose-specific lectin which binds IgE. IT may mediate with the alpha-3, beta-1 integrin the stimulation by CSPG4 of endothelial cells migration. Together with DMBT1, it is required for terminal differentiation of columnar epithelial cells during early embryogenesis.
Physical form
Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.
Other Notes
Synthetic peptide located within the following region: GASYPGAYPGQAPPGAYPGQAPPGAYPGAPGAYPGAPAPGVYPGPPSGPG

Conceptus secretory factors include galectins, a family of carbohydrate binding proteins that elicit cell adhesion and immune suppression by interacting with intracellular and extracellular glycans. In rodents, galectin-1 (LGALS1) promotes maternal-fetal immune tolerance in the decidua through expansion of tolerogenic
