General description
Monoclonal Anti-C/EBPβ (rat IgG2a isotype) is derived from the hybridoma 7H5 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells (SP2) and splenocytes from rat immunized with a mouse C/EBPβ fusion protein. CCAAT/enhancer binding proteins β (C/EBPβ) belongs to the highly conserved family of C/EBP transcription factors. It possesses a C-terminal basic region-leucine zipper (bZIP) domain, which is essential for DNA binding. C/EBPβ has two central regulatory domains (RDs), RD1 and RD2.
Immunogen
mouse C/EBPβ fusion protein
Application
Monoclonal Anti-C/EBPβ antibody produced in rat has been used in immunoblotting and immunocytochemistry.
Biochem/physiol Actions
CCAAT/enhancer binding proteins β (C/EBPβ) exhibits plasticity with respect to various transcriptional activities it takes part in. It regulates IL-6 (interleukin-6) and IL-6-induced expression of the cytokines IL-1, IL-8, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα) and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). C/EBPβ modulates acute phase response proteins such as α1-acid glycoprotein, α2-microglobulin and C-reactive protein. It is implicated in the development of the mammary gland and , in cell proliferation. C/EBPβ regulates survival in liver and in response to injuries and hormones in lungs. It plays a role in human breast tumorigenesis.
