General description
α 4 is a phosphoprotein that is expressed in a wide range of tissues, including pancreas, lymph node, thymus, kidney, leukocytes, fetal liver, heart, and brain. This phosporpotein associates with protein phosphatases 2A, 4, and 6 to regulate the rapamycin-sensitive pathway mediated by FRAP. α4 also binds to MID-1 and subsequently modulates PP2A function . Monoclonal Anti-α4 antibody is specific for human and mouse α4 (approx. 40 kDa).
Immunogen
mouse Alpha4 fusion protein. The corresponding sequence shares 80% homology with human Alpha4.
Application
Monoclonal Anti-α4 antibody is suitable for use in western blot (1-2 μg/mL using whole extracts of mouse 3T3 or human HeLa cells).
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Protein phosphatases participate in the regulation of a variety of cellular processes. Control of their enzymatic activity and specificity is made possible largely by an array of regulatory subunits. Novel serine/threonine phosphatases--PP4 and PP6 in human cells--have been discovered recently

Alpha4 is a regulatory subunit of the protein phosphatase family of enzymes and plays an essential role in regulating the catalytic subunit of PP2A (PP2Ac) within the rapamycin-sensitive signaling pathway. Alpha4 also interacts with MID1, a microtubule-associated ubiquitin E3 ligase

Lamin C2 (LMN C2) is a short product of the lamin a gene. It is a germ cell-specific lamin and has been extensively studied in male germ cells. In this study, we focussed on the expression and localization of LMN

To study the function of the B cell signal transduction molecule alpha 4 (IGBP1), we isolated a human alpha 4 (IGBP1) gene that has sequence similarity to the yeast protein (TAP42) involved in the rapamycin-sensitive signal transduction pathway. The human
