General description
LIN28 belongs to a family of RNA-binding proteins that are mainly expressed in embryonic stem cells.
Immunogen
synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of human LIN28A. The isotype is determined using a double diffusion immunoassay using Mouse Monoclonal Antibody Isotyping Reagents (Sigma ISO-2).
Application
Monoclonal Anti-LIN28 antibody produced in mouse is suitable for immunoblotting at a working dilution of 1:8000 to 1:16000. For immunofluorescence, a dilution of 1:1500 to 1:3000 is recommended.
Monoclonal Anti-LIN28 antibody produced in mouse specifically recognizes C-terminus of human LIN28A.
Biochem/physiol Actions
The structure of LIN28 includes RNA-binding domains, an N-terminal cold-shock domain and a C-terminal Zn-knuckle domain. It inhibits the biogenesis of let-7 miRNA and modulates the translation of target mRNA. The expression of LIN28 is linked to the cellular processes of development, differentiation, oncogenesis and glucose metabolism. It is also linked to the resistance of breast cancer cells to radiation effects.
Physical form

Lin28 is an essential RNA-binding protein that is ubiquitously expressed in embryonic stem cells. Its physiological function has been linked to the regulation of differentiation, development, and oncogenesis as well as glucose metabolism. Lin28 mediates these pleiotropic functions by inhibiting

Resistance to radiation therapy is a major obstacle for the effective treatment of cancers. Lin28 has been shown to contribute to breast tumorigenesis; however, the relationship between Lin28 and radioresistance remains unknown. In this study, we investigated the association of
