General description

Monoclonal Anti-Kindlin-2 (mouse IgG1 isotype) is derived from the hybridoma 3A3 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice. Kindlin-2 belongs to the Kindlin family of focal adhesion proteins. It is localized in all solid tissues of mesenchymal origin. Kindlin-2 consists of band 4.1 protein, ezrin, radixin and moesin (FERM) and pleckstrin homology (PH) domains. It is mapped on the human chromosome at 14q22.1.

Immunogen

recombinant C-terminal region fusion protein of human Kindlin-2.1 The isotype is determined by ELISA using Mouse Monoclonal Antibody Isotyping Reagents (Sigma ISO-2).

Application

Monoclonal Anti-Kindlin-2 antibody produced in mouse may be used in:
  • immunoblotting
  • flow cytometry
  • immunoprecipitation
  • immunocytochemistry
  • immunohistochemistry

Biochem/physiol Actions

Kindlin-2 plays an important role in integrin-mediated cell-extracellular matrix (ECM) adhesion and invasion. It is also involved in wound healing, angiogenesis and embryonic development. Deficiency of kindlin-2 leads to the lethality of embryos. Kindlin-2 expression can be altered by malignant transformations such as breast cancer and leiomyomas.
Monoclonal Anti-Kindlin-2 recognizes human, monkey, bovine, dog rat and mouse kindlin-2.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.

Preparation Note

For extended storage, freeze at -20 °C in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing,or storage in “frost-free” freezers,is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. Working dilution samples should be discarded if not used within 12 hours.
