Application

Anti-phospho-DRP1 (pSer637) antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunoblotting and western blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Dynamin related protein 1 (DRP1) is an important regulator of mitochondrial fission and peroxisomal division. It regulates proper mitochondrial function, apoptosis and necrosis. Mutations in this gene is associated with Alzheimer′s disease.
The antibody detects endogenous levels of DRP1 only when phosphorylated at serine 637.

General description

Dynamin related protein 1 (DRP1) is a dynamin-related guanosine triphosphatase. The gene is located on human chromosome 12p11.21. DRP1 is a cytosolic protein, which is also present on the outer mitochondrial membrane.

Immunogen

Peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of Serine637(K-L-S(p)-A-R) derived from Human DRP1.

Physical form

Rabbit IgG in phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
