Gene Information

human ... CYP1A1(1543)

General description

Anti-Cytochrome P450 1A1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total Cytochrome P450 1A1 protein.
The cytochrome P450 family 1 subfamily A member 1 (CYP1A1) gene with seven exons, is mapped to human chromosome 15q24.1. The encoded protein is primarily expressed in extrahepatic tissues.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Cytochrome P450 1A1/2.

Immunogen Range: 71-120

Biochem/physiol Actions

Cytochrome P450 family 1 subfamily A member 1 (CYP1A1) catalyzes 2-OH hydroxylation in the endometrium. In addition, it also catalyzes the oxidation of various structurally unrelated compounds, such as steroids and fatty acids. CYP family members play an important role in metabolic activation and detoxification of tobacco-derived carcinogen and other xenobiotics. CYP1A1 also facilitates drug metabolism. Mutation in the gene increases the risk of susceptibility to colorectal cancer and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
