General description

Anti-CD18 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total CD18 protein.
CD18/ ITGB2 (integrin subunit β2) is also termed as Mac-1 or complement receptor 3. The ITGB2 gene is mapped to human chromosome 21q22.3. It is mainly expressed in blood. Anti-CD18 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total CD18 protein.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human CD18/ITGB2.

Biochem/physiol Actions

CD18/ ITGB2 (integrin subunit β 2) plays an important role in the progression and function of T-cells. Mutations in ITGB2 results in leukocyte adhesion deficiency type 1, which has an established role in T-cell development and function. ITGB2/CD18 is associated with chronic colitis.
