General description
Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is a novel member of the immunoglobulin family. It contains gamma (γ) heavy chain in the constant (C) region. IgG extensively expressed in serum. The primary structure of IgG enclose disulfide bonds involved in linking the two heavy chains, linking the heavy and light chains and resides inside the chains. IgG is has four sub-classes namely, IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, and IgG4 with different heavy chains, named γ1,γ2, γ3, and γ4, respectively. All IgG′s are monomers and they conatin two identical heavy chains and two identical light chains with molecular weight of 50kDa and 25kDa respectively. IgG is produced and secreated from CD5+B cells, the main lymphocytes in the neonatal cell repertoire. Maternal IgG is the only antibody transmitted from the placenta to the fetus. Maternal IgG is implicated in the passive immunization of infants.

Natural antibodies arise independently of known antigenic stimulation, are mostly IGM, polyreactive, and are generally encoded by V genes in germline configuration. Polyreactive IgM natural antibodies are produced by mainly B-1 cells which account for most of the B cell
