Biochem/physiol Actions

Tabernanthalog (TBG) is a water-soluble, non-hallucinogenic and non-toxic ibogaine analog with potent 5-HT2A receptor (human and mouse) agonist and 5-HT2B receptor (human) antagonist activities, but no opioid agonist activity.TBG induces rat dendritic growth blockable by the 5-HT2A antagonist ketanserin in cultures and exhibits antidepressant-like efficacy in vivo (50 mg/kg via i.p. by mouse forced swimming or alcohol consumption, 40 mg/kg by rat heroin self-administration).
Water-soluble, non-hallucinogenic, non-toxic ibogaine analog with 5-HT2A agonist and 5-HT2B antagonist potency, and in vivo antidepressant-like efficacy.
