Biochem/physiol Actions

IKE (Imidazole ketone erastin) is a highly potent and metabolically stable inhibitor of system xc– and inducer of ferroptosis. It appears that IKE inhibits cystine uptake leading to glutathione depletion. IKE inhibits tumor growth in mouse model of lymphoma.
