General description

Stem Cell Factor (SCF) is a hematopoietic growth factor that exerts its activity at the early stages of hematopoiesis. SCF stimulates the proliferation of myeloid, erythroid, and lymphoid progenitors in bone marrow cultures. Recombinant rat SCF is an 18.4 kDa protein containing 165 amino acid residues, which corresponds to the sequence of the secreted soluble form of SCF.

Physical form

Lyophilized from 20 mM Tris, pH 7.5.

Preparation Note

Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.

Bin-Amphiphysin-Rvs (BAR) and Fes-CIP4 homology BAR (F-BAR) proteins generate tubular membrane invaginations reminiscent of the megakaryocyte (MK) demarcation membrane system (DMS), which provides membranes necessary for future platelets. The F-BAR protein PACSIN2 is one of the most abundant BAR/F-BAR proteins
