Theophylline is a naturally occurring alkaloid showing bronchodilator effects.
Application
Theophylline may be used as a reference standard in the determination of theophylline in:
- blood and tissue samples using the spectrophotometric technique
- food, beverages and herbal products using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
- plasma samples using high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with an ultraviolet detector (HPLC-UV)
